Sixteen years later, Wei Wuxian returns out of the blue. He is soon reunited with Lan Wangji, just as a spate of mysterious murders has broken out. The duo joins forces once more to investigate, determined not to fail this time… Can the pair get to the bottom of the intrigue? Will they solve the murder cases? And just who is the dastardly secret figure pulling the strings behind the evildoings now blighting the land?

The series brings us a cast never seen before: Xiao Zhan, Wang Yibo, Wang Zhuocheng, Xuan Lu, Meng Ziyi and Liu Haikuan, interpreting the characters: Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji, Jiang Cheng, Jiang Yanli, Wen Qing and Lan Xichen, respectively.

This last season was undoubtedly very controversial and let too many conversations on platforms such as Instagram or Twitter. As its audience has proliferated thanks to that, the next season will deal with the same current issues.
